Portable Fire Extinguishers

We supply your fire extinguishers

The number and size of portable extinguishers required is set forth by the National Fire Protection Association's Code 10 - " The Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers." Our technicians are trained to determine the building occupancy, the potential fire hazards and the anticipated class of fire before recommending the proper type and size of extinguishers required to meet the codes. We make recommendations with no obligations and can ensure delivery from our well-stocked warehouse. Fire Safe, LLC strictly follows the inspection and maintenance guidelines set by fire extinguisher manufacturers and Code NFPA 10 that regulates them.

A tag or label is securely fastened identifying the individual who performed the service. (NOTE: An annual recharge is NOT necessarily required).

6-Year Maintenance

Every six years, stored pressure extinguishers must be emptied and subjected to a full internal inspection and applicable maintenance procedures, including a thorough examination of all mechanical parts, extinguishing agent and expellant.

Hydrostatic Testing

Periodic test mandated by NFPA and the Department of Transportation (DOT) requiring highly specialized test equipment to ensure the integrity of an extinguisher or cylinder at its listed operating pressure. Dry chemical and Halon 1211 extinguishers are to be hydrotested at 12 year intervals. High-pressure carbon dioxide extinguishers are to be tested at 5 year intervals.
